New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) on Friday rejected Delhi Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari's offer of support to it and his appeal to the Muslim community to vote for the party in Delhi Assembly elections.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, "We have always been against communal Politics, people from all religion will vote for us. AAP doesn't support the ideology of Imam Bukhari, we don't need their support."
Bukhari had earlier asked Muslims to support the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly elections.

The move comes as a surprise as the Imam in the past has asked Muslims to back Congress.
Traditionally the Imam has always asked Muslims to support Congress but this time he appealed Muslims to vote for AAP candidates and help in forming a secular government in Delhi.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also responded to the appeal saying, "The correct answer to such 'fatwas' is through the ballot."
"We are confident that people from all castes and communities will come out and vote for us," Jaitley added.
Several other parties have also asked people to vote for AAP in the upcoming elections. West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday appealed to the people of Delhi to vote for AAP candidates during the Assembly elections.
In a tweet, Banerjee had said, "Delhi elections on 7. My request to all of you in Delhi to please vote for AAP. For the greater need of the country and development in Delhi".
Prakash Karat of CPM had also said that his party will support AAP on the seats where they have not fielded their own candidates.
