New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) on Friday rejected Delhi Jama Masjid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari's offer of support to it and his appeal to the Muslim community to vote for the party in Delhi Assembly elections. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, "We have always been against communal Politics, people from all religion will vote for us. AAP doesn't support the ideology of Imam Bukhari, we don't need their support." Bukhari had earlier asked Muslims to support the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly elections. The move comes as a surprise as the Imam in the past has asked Muslims to back Congress. Traditionally the Imam has always asked Muslims to support Congress but this time he appealed Muslims to vote for AAP candidates and help in forming a secular government in Delhi.
